The Society for Magnesium Research e.V. meets annually at the Society Symposium.

The symposium of the Gesellschaft für Magnesium-Forschung e.V. in 2025 will take place on 14 and 15 November 2025 in Essen (Mintrops Stadt Hotel, Margarethenhöhe Essen, Steile Straße 46, 45149 Essen). The symposium in 2024 took place from 24-26 October together with the conference of the Society for Minerals and Trace Elements (GMS) in Munich (TU Munich, Biederstein Campus). The abstracts of the presentations and posters can be found here.
